Adama Bojang Shines in Final Match for Steve Biko

In a poignant display of emotions, Gambia’s U20 sensation Adama Bojang could not hold back his tears as he played his last match for Steve Biko.

Despite Steve Biko suffering a 4-2 defeat second-place Falcons at the Bakau Football Park on Saturday, Bojang left an indelible mark on the game with his remarkable 50 minutes performance.

On the 51st minute, Bojang’s number 20 was raise indicating the end of his minutes on the match which led to the atmosphere at the park transformed into a heartfelt tribute, with both fans and players showing their utmost appreciation for his contributions.

Speaking to the press after the match, Bojang expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play three consecutive seasons for Steve Biko, a club he has cherished since his childhood.

“I have now played my final match for them [Steve Biko] is a great feeling, I feel so proud of myself and the club together with my teammates.”

Bojang’s exceptional talent hasn’t gone unnoticed as he has attracted interest from various European clubs.

When asked about his potential move to Europe, the 19-year-old sensation expressed his aspirations to play in one of the top European leagues.

He humbly acknowledged that the final decision rests in the hands of fate and expressed hope for the best outcome.

“The decision lies in the hands of Allah but we hope for the best and wait for the outcome, I would love to play in top European leagues.”

Bojang dedicated his last goal for Steve Biko to his mother and the Gambia’s U20 head coach Abdoulie Bojang.

He could no longer stop tears dropping down his face when he conveyed a message of gratitude to the fans who supported him since day one.

“Today I dedicate my last goal to my mum and Abdoulieu Bojang, they have done everything for me since my childhood. I would say a very big thanks to fans who have given me the courage and support throughout the journey.”

Bojang’s national jersey proudly showcases his impressive tally of six goals, including his remarkable performances in the U20 African Cup of Nations and the World Cup.

With a potential move to Europe on the horizon, Adama Bojang’s journey promises to be a remarkable opportunity for the goal scoring ‘Hurricane.’
