The Gambia Football Federation GFF is set to increase the country’s division one league from fourteen teams to sixteen teams next season.
Four teams will be promoted to the first division league from the second division league next season.
The Gambia’s second tier will also be increased from sixteen teams to eighteen.
Meanwhile, GFF is also set to increase prizes for the winners of the 2020-2021 division one and two league campaigns.
1st Division Male league champions will now be crowned with a trophy and a cash price of D750, 000 initially D300, 000. Runners up will now be rewarded with D300, 000 from D150, 000. Third place will now be rewarded with D150, 000 from D100, 000.
2nd Division Male league champions will now be rewarded with a cash price of D300, 000 initially D100, 000. Runners up will now be rewarded with D150, 000 from D75, 000. Third place will now be rewarded with D50, 000 no cash was given.
In the female 1st division league champions will now be rewarded with a cash price of D400, 000 initially D150, 000. Runners up will now be rewarded with D200, 000 from D100, 000. Third place will now be rewarded with D100, 000 initially D50, 000.
