The soft-spoken 12-year-old is a football lover and plays football despite being an Academy owner as he is currently a player Coach at his Academy. Gibba has already set sights into seeing his efforts put into the Academy yield some positive results despite having series of challenges to maintain his Academy.

“I love football a lot and I want to help my fellow children as we are one family and also to motivate the children into playing football because there is a lot of benefit in football,” Gibba told Sporty Nation.

Zion Academy is a football academy founded in the Gambia by Modou Gibba a 12-year-old boy from New Jeshwang in 2019 through inspiration to develop and motivate fellow kids to follow their dreams and keep growing as days pass by.

The Academy has over 60 footballers in different age brackets despite the founder being just 12 years of age. Modou and his footballers struggle to get football boots, jerseys and other footballing materials as they believe on their dreams of playing professional football.

“We need footballs and jerseys; these are the things that disturb us most. Football shoes too are our problem because sometimes the footballers do not have shoes to play with,” Modou Gibba said.
