Samger (The Academy Boys) gave a stark reminder of what they are capable of as they swept Essau United aside 5-1 at the Soma mini stadium in a true heavyweight vs lightweight clash, securing now 4 wins from their last 7 Gambia Football Federation division two outings.

A Bakary Dembo Touray show and four goals was the factor for Samger’s big win and running riot against the newly promoted Essau United.
Celebrating their victory, Samger posted on their official Facebook page saying, “a fantastic team performance with a dominant win. What a way to bounce back!.”
Samger have climbed to the second position on the table and just a point behind leaders Medina United while Essau United struggle to find their feet and sit 15th.
Elsewhere in the Serrekunda Derby, Serrekunda FC and Serrekunda United played out a 1-1 draw in Bakau after a closely contested match.
Serrekunda FC took the lead through Ensa Sanyang’s early goal and began chanting all three points are safe until the 72nd minute when Serrekunda United levelled matters from the penalty spot.
After the draw, Serrekunda United sit 14th with 6points on the table standings while Serrekunda FC occupy relegation spot 18th with just 4points and penultimate on the table.
