10-Man Greater Tomorrow Salvage Victory over Hopeful Wallidan

Relegation battlers Greater Tomorrow (GTFA) shock third place occupants Wallidan FC to a 2-1 win to keep their hopes alive in their fight to stay in the GFF top tier. The match played at the KG5 Park was match day 16 fixtures penultimate and produced an entertaining end as it was tipped to do.

Wallidan FC hopes on pouncing on Falcons draw was first threatened by a Momodou Jallow’s (Pogba) strike at the 32nd minute but 7 minutes later Wallidan’s John Mendy restored Wallidan’s freedom from Jallow’s strike.

Neutrals thought it was the right time for the halftime whistle was blown so they could see the second half and know what unfolds and just like they thought, the whistle came in and the tie was still level at halftime.

66 minutes into the match, Greater Tomorrow scored from the penalty spot through Abdoulie Baldeh (Cavani) to seize Wallidan’s fans believes of capitalizing on a golden opportunity to shorten the gap to 2 points.

Second half substitute and debutant Momodou Jallow (Zaka) would probably not want to remember this match as his first game for Greater Tomorrow after being sent off on the 84th minute after been send on to help his side maintain Wallidan with his experience.

The three points push Greater Tomorrow towards safety after leapfrogging PSV Wellingara who now sit bottom to sit penultimate on level points with champions Hawks who play a match less. The defeat leaves Wallidan on third position with 5 points behind leaders Falcons and 2 points behind Real De Banjul.
