The Gambian male senior team in their quest to return to the Africa Cup of Nations defeat South Sudan 1-0 at the Stade Lat dior in Senegal being Gambia’s home stadium for the match after CAF rule out the Independence Stadium from hosting international matches.
Ablie Jallow scored the lone goal of the match after Musa Barrow played him through for him to beat the rushing goal keeper.
Jallow and Barrow combined for their third combined goal.
Tom Saintfiet and back room staff were pleased with the display as they made late substitutions unlike their counterparts who unleashed all they have to salvage a point.
This win leaves Gambia second on the table standing as Mali were 4-0 winners against Congo.
The Gambia would now face Congo to continue their quest for a return in the AFCON after playing their first ever in Cameroon.
