The Gambia senior male National team who made their first appearance in the Africa Cup of Nation in Cameroon will be playing their preliminary match against Chad in March and U-23 and Paide goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju and Matar Ceesay are among the called up players.

Jarju the former Real De Banjul man who recently join Paide and celebrated his 24th birthday yesterday is included in Tom Saintfiet’s squad list ahead of the Chad.

Matar Ceesay who plays for AmaZulu in South Africa will be making his first senior appearance in the Gambian colours as he got called up by Tom.
Other players who are believed to be recalled to the squad are Abdoulie Sanyang, Muhammed Sanneh, and Kalifa Manneh who missed out in the AFCON squad.
Lamin Jallow alias Beck is one of the ommitted players and fans cannot stop linking it with his vibrant role in the Cameroon stranded saga.
Ablie Jallow alias Germano the Scorpions top scorer in the AFCON level with Musa Barrow is not included in the preliminary squad list as he nurse an injury along with Hamza Barry.
Tom Saintfiet has another mission of taking the Gambia to the AFCON again but will first battle it against Chad in the preliminary round.
